TremorAudio

Musical Instruments E-Commerce

A complete online-store rebuild for a musical-instrument retailer — making a large catalogue easier to search and helping customers understand where products were supplied from.

TremorAudio — Musical Instruments E-Commerce

Tremor Audio sells instruments and equipment sourced through several suppliers. Customers could not easily tell the difference between locally available products and items supplied from overseas, so staff repeatedly had to explain availability before a purchase could move forward. The new store was designed to answer those questions earlier and make a large catalogue easier to explore.

01THE CHALLENGE

Too many buying questions were reaching the shop floor

The catalogue combined products from different supply channels, but the website did not explain those differences clearly. Customers had trouble finding the right item and understanding availability. Staff spent time answering the same questions, and an earlier attempt to replace the website had not produced a store the business could launch.

  • Customers could not easily distinguish local and overseas-supplied products
  • A large catalogue made browsing and product discovery difficult
  • Repeated availability questions took staff away from higher-value customer service
  • The unfinished earlier build had to be replaced with a launch-ready store
  • The online experience needed to support, rather than add work to, the physical shop
02OUR APPROACH

A store organised around how customers actually shop

We rebuilt the online store around product discovery and clear availability. Customers could search and narrow the catalogue, understand important product differences and move into a familiar, secure checkout. The experience was designed to work just as clearly on a phone as it did on a desktop computer.

Clearer Availability
Made product supply differences easier to understand before customers contacted staff
Better Product Discovery
Added practical search, filtering and categories for a large catalogue
Mobile Shopping
Designed the full browsing and buying journey for smaller screens
Faster Browsing
Reduced the wait between catalogue and product pages
Trusted Checkout
Kept payment and order handling within Shopify
